Frequently Asked Questions

What is Anvil?

Anvil is trading software which connects to Anvil Servers at our side. Before Anvil connects to us, traders must have a secure connection to us. To secure the connection, you have to run SSL F5 software.

What is SSL?

It’s a protocol used to securely send traffic over the internet.

What is F5?

F5 is one of the vendors that provide SSL Servers and software (along with other network products)

What is Nortel?

Nortel is another vendor that provide SSL Servers and software

What is Cisco VPN?

Its’ another way of connecting to us. Instead of SSL it uses IPSec (another protocol). Normally traders do not need Cisco VPN connection to connect to us.

Which one should I use? F5 or Nortel?

We used to have Nortel solution but eventually we are migrating away from Nortel and adopting F5. Going forward we’ll be only supporting F5 clients and Nortel would be removed altogether

Why F5?

F5 software proved to be most compatible with all different client workstations including all editions of windows vista along with all older versions including xp and 2000. Also it had the fastest servers for SSL among the ones we evaluated.
